COVID Outbreak Declared on the Cedar Home Area, July 6, 2024
In collaboration with Public Health, the Cedar Home Area has declared a COVID Outbreak with three (3) residents testing positive at this time. Family members of those residents affected have been notified. Oak Home Area remains in an unknown respiratory outbreak with four (4) resident cases. Testing is pending with Public Health. Maple Home area remains under Heightened Surveillance with one (1) resident case of respiratory illness.
The following infection control measures are to be implemented or continued at this time:
Masks to be worn in the Oak and Maple Home Areas
Surgical Masks or N95 Masks in the Cedar Home Area (N95 Masks must be worn in the affected resident rooms)
- Residents are to remain in the unit at this time to reduce the risk of spread (Oak and Cedar unit only at this time)
- *If residents insist on leaving the unit, please assist them with masking or a visor and encourage outdoor visiting.
Twice daily respiratory symptom screening in Oak and Cedar Home Area
- Immediate isolation of any residents with new symptom onset
- Cohorting of staff, when possible.
- Cohorting of residents and only small group activities on the unit for unaffected residents. Isolated residents to receive one-to-one activities.
- Twice daily high-touch surface cleaning- changing disinfecting product to 1-minute contact
- Limit of two (2) essential caregivers at a time in Oak and Cedar Home Areas only
No General Visiting to Oak and Cedar Home Areas
