Further Outbreaks Declared on Cedar and Maple, March 4, 2023

CLOSED: This discussion has concluded.

In collaboration with Public Health, Cedar home area declared an Enteric Outbreak and Maple home area declared a COVID Outbreak on March 4, 2023. We will provide updates when they are available.

Oak remains in Enteric (symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea) Outbreak and Cedar has a Respiratory (symptoms such as cough, hoarse voice, sore throat and lethargy) Outbreak as well at this time.

No General Visitors to Cedar and Oak Home Areas at this time. Essential Caregivers may visit to a maximum of two (2) at a time.

Oak Home Area: Currently nine (9) residents isolated with enteric symptoms.

Cedar Home Area: Currently eight (8) residents isolated with respiratory symptoms and two (2) residents isolated with enteric symptoms.

Maple Home Area: Currently two (2) residents isolated with COVID-19 symptoms.

Enhanced Infection Control Measures on Oak, Cedar and Maple include:

  • Increased hand hygiene for staff and residents prior to meals
  • Increased cleaning on affected units by housekeeping
  • Increased PPE audits and hand hygiene audits
  • Twice daily symptom screening
  • Staff cohorting where possible
  • All individuals are to be masked through the home in common areas.
  • Mandatory N95 masks and Eye protection at all times on Cedar and Maple
  • Residents on affected areas to avoid group activities.
