January 7th, 2023- Outbreak & Enhanced Surveillance Updates

The Maple Home Area remains in Covid -19 Outbreak and Unknown Respiratory Outbreak at this time.

We now have 9 confirmed Covid Positive residents on Maple and 5 other symptomatic residents.

We remain in enhanced respiratory surveillance in Birch with 1 covid positive resident and 1 resident with unknown pathogen on isolation.

Enhanced Infection Control Measures at this time include:

• Increased hand hygiene
• Increased Personal Protective Equipment audits and hand hygiene audits
• Twice daily symptom screening on Maple and Birch unit
• Staff cohorting where possible
• Mandatory N95 masks and Eye protection at all times on Maple
• Eye protection and surgical masks on Birch
• No general Visitors and only 2 essential caregivers at a time on the Maple home area
• Twice enhanced cleaning of high-touch surfaces.
