January 9, 2022- Outbreak & Enhanced Surveillance Update

The Maple Home Area remains in Covid -19 Outbreak and Unknown Respiratory Outbreak at this time.

We now have 12 confirmed Covid Positive residents on Maple and 6 other symptomatic residents.

We remain in enhanced respiratory surveillance in Birch with 1 covid positive resident and 1 resident with unknown pathogen on isolation.

Enhanced Infection Control Measures at this time include:

Increased hand hygiene
Increased Personal Protective Equipment audits and hand hygiene audits
Twice daily symptom screening on Maple and Birch unit
Staff cohorting where possible
Mandatory N95 masks and Eye protection at all times on Maple
Eye protection and surgical masks on Birch
No general Visitors and only 2 essential caregivers at a time on the Maple home area
Twice enhanced cleaning of high-touch surfaces.
