Outbreaks Declared Over for Cedar and Birch Home Areas

In collaboration with Public Health, the outbreaks declared for Cedar and Birch Home area have been declared over as of today (November 21, 2022). Birch continues in heightened surveillance related to one case of covid and Oak home are remains in outbreak for COVID and respiratory.

Masks are required at all times in the home at this time related to concern of virus spread as well as the increase in virus cases in our community.

Residents have respiratory symptoms that include nasal congestion, cough, lethargy, sore throat and/or mild fever.

  • Oak cases at this time: 14

The following is direction from Public Health at this time:

No General Visitors, only Essential Caregivers at a maximum of two (2) at a time for each resident in the Oak home area.

The following enhanced measures have been implemented:

  • Symptomatic residents are in isolation on droplet/contact precautions
  • Enhanced cleaning of high touch surfaces twice per day
  • Surveillance of residents to identify any changes or development of symptoms
  • The required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the Oak and Birch units are N95 and eye protection.
  • The required PPE for isolated residents is droplet contact precautions including N95, eye protection, gowns and gloves.
