Respiratory Outbreak Declared in Cedar Home Area November 23, 2022
In collaboration with Public Health, Cedar Home area has been placed into a respiratory outbreak status as of November 23, 2022, related to four (4) residents with respiratory symptoms including sore throat, low grade fever, couch, nasal and chest congestion.
Masks are required at all times in the home at this time related to concern of virus spread as well as the increase in virus cases in our community.
The following is direction from Public Health at this time:
No General Visitors, only Essential Caregivers at a maximum of two (2) at a time for each resident in the Cedar home area.
The following enhanced measures have been implemented:
- Symptomatic residents are in isolation on droplet/contact precautions
- Enhanced cleaning of high touch surfaces twice per day
- Surveillance of residents to identify any changes or development of symptoms
- The required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the Cedar home area is N95 masks and eye protection.
- The required PPE for isolated residents is droplet contact precautions including N95 mask, eye protection, gowns and gloves.
