Cedar - No residents isolated at this time
In accordance with Public Health, Cedar will still remain in Respiratory Outbreak until Thursday December 1st, 2022. The home may go back to using surgical masks if you choose. Measures still in place on Cedar:
- Eye Protection
- BID screening of symptoms and illness for quick isolation of ill residents
- Enhanced cleaning of high touch surfaces
- Increased hand hygiene for residents and staff
Oak continues to be on Covid Outbreak at this time. The end date is still to be determined. Measures in place on Oak are:
- Eye Protection
- N95 Masks
- BID screening of symptoms and illness for quick isolation of ill residents
- Enhanced cleaning of high touch surfaces
- Increased hand hygiene for residents and staff

At this time, Cedar and Oak Home Areas remain in outbreak with COVID and other pathogens (not influenza, as this was ruled out).
Residents have respiratory symptoms that include nasal congestion, cough, lethargy, sore throat and/or mild fever.
- Cedar cases at this time: 4
- Oak cases at this time: 3
The following is direction from Public Health at this time:
No General Visitors, only Essential Caregivers at a maximum of two (2) at a time for each resident in the affected home areas.
The following enhanced measures have been implemented:
- Symptomatic residents are in isolation on droplet/contact precautions
- Enhanced cleaning of high touch surfaces twice per day
- Surveillance of residents to identify any changes or development of symptoms
- The required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the unit is N95 and eye protection.
- The required PPE for isolated residents is droplet contact precautions including N95, eye protection, gowns and gloves.

Residents at the Pines Long Term Care Home in Bracebridge will soon have the opportunity to “shop“ at the during their annual Resident Christmas Shopping Spree day, in the comfort of their own Home. This holiday shop will be open exclusively to residents of the Pines, so they too, can continue to experience the gift of giving, this holiday season.
Pines staff are accepting donated items (new, gently used or giftable items) from our community - and we need your help to stock the shelves for residents.
Donated items will be displayed for Pines residents to “shop” at their convenience while at home - and choose special items for their loved ones to put under the tree this season. These gifts will then be wrapped and tagged by staff, so our residents can continue to experience the gift of giving, this holiday season.More details: https://www.muskoka.on.ca/pineschristmas

At this time, Oak remains in outbreak with COVID and other respiratory pathogens (not influenza, as this was ruled out). Birch home area enhanced surveillance has been resolved as of today.
Residents have respiratory symptoms that include nasal congestion, cough, lethargy, sore throat and/or mild fever.
- Oak cases at this time: six (6) (three (3) COVID- one (1) new case today)
The following is direction from Public Health at this time:
No General Visitors, only Essential Caregivers at a maximum of two (2) at a time for each resident in the affected home areas.
The following enhanced measures have been implemented:
- Symptomatic residents are in isolation on droplet/contact precautions
- Enhanced cleaning of high touch surfaces twice per day
- Surveillance of residents to identify any changes or development of symptoms
- The required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the unit is N95 masks and eye protection.
- The required PPE for isolated residents is droplet contact precautions including N95 masks, eye protection, gowns and gloves.

Masks are required at all times in the home at this time related to concern of virus spread as well as the increase in virus cases in our community.
The following is direction from Public Health at this time:
No General Visitors, only Essential Caregivers at a maximum of two (2) at a time for each resident in the Cedar home area.
The following enhanced measures have been implemented:
- Symptomatic residents are in isolation on droplet/contact precautions
- Enhanced cleaning of high touch surfaces twice per day
- Surveillance of residents to identify any changes or development of symptoms
- The required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the Cedar home area is N95 masks and eye protection.

Birch continues in heightened surveillance related to one case of covid and Oak home are remains in outbreak for COVID and respiratory.
