We are very pleased to introduce ACHIEVA HEALTH who will be providing the Physiotherapy Services to the Residents at The Pines LTC Home starting on Friday, November 1, 2024.
ACHIEVA HEALTH provides high-quality, compassionate, goal-oriented Physiotherapy Services that meet the Residents’ needs and improve their level of independence and quality of life.
ACHIEVA HEALTH has hired exceptional and passionate staff to work in LTC. ACHIEVA HEALTH will provide excellent Physiotherapy Services to enhance the quality of life of the Residents served. The Physiotherapy team will work the following schedules:
The Physiotherapy Staff will be committed to assisting the Residents to improve their mobility, strength, range of motion, and balance to improve function and live more independently. Residents who require services will be referred to the Physiotherapist who will commence a comprehensive Assessment and develop a treatment plan that will meet the Residents’ specific needs.
The Residents may benefit from any of the following Programs and Services offered:
1. Falls Prevention Program
2. Mobility & Walking Program
3. Arthritis Management Program
4. Osteoporosis Prevention Program
5. Weight Bearing & Transfer Training Program
6. Pain Management Program
7. Skin Care & Wound Management Program
8. Stroke Rehab Program
9. Parkinson’s Management Program
10. MS/CP Mobility Program
11. COPD/Pneumonia/Chest Program
12. Continence Management Program
13. Least Restraints Program
14. Pre-& Post-Surgical Strengthening & Mobility Program
15. Alzheimer’s Management Program
16. Seating & Mobility Program (ADP)

Residents have symptoms such as cough, runny nose, nasal congestion, sore throat, and/or hoarse voice. We currently have four (4) impacted home areas, please see below. Cedar now has two (2) cases therefore masking is required in this home area. We received results from testing with Public Health, and both COVID-19 and Rhinovirus have been detected as causative agents for the outbreaks. Family members of those residents affected have been notified.

- Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used properly- including donning before entering and removing before exiting the isolated resident’s room
- Residents are to remain in the affected home area at this time to reduce the risk of spread
- *If residents insist on leaving the home area, please assist them with masking or a visor and encourage outdoor visiting.
- Twice daily respiratory symptom screening in Maple, Birch, Spruce, Cedar, and Oak Home Areas
- Immediate isolation of any residents with new symptom onset
- Cohorting of staff, when possible.
- Cohorting of residents and only small group activities in the home area for unaffected residents. Isolated residents to receive one-to-one activities.
- Twice daily high-touch surface cleaning- changing disinfecting product to 1-minute contact time
- Increased hand hygiene and PPE audits in the home area with coaching
- Limit of two (2) essential caregivers at a time in the Entire Home
- No General Visitors to the Entire Home

Each workday a third of the hallway will be completed and residents will need to be out of the area for the duration of the work. Watch for signage or connect with a staff member at the time if you have any questions. The carpet will be replaced with laminate flooring which can be easily cleaned and disinfected. Thank you for your patience as we work through this most recent project.
